Not only being harnessed with
endless stretches of white sands and lots of stunning bays and islands, Vietnam
offers a fascinating underwater world. All of those natural resources make it a
perfect place for scuba diving. Let’s take a look at some of the best spots for
underwater exploration.
1. Cu Lao Cham (Cham Island)
To get to Cham Island, you need
to take a short drive from the charming and ancient town of Hoi An, followed by
a speed boat ride. Cham Island is so large it can be visible from almost
anywhere along the beach of Danang and Hoi An although it is more than 10
kilometers away from the coastline. Cham Island is one of the most popular
spots in Vietnam for water sports. Apart from a massive area for snorkeling and
scuba diving, you can play beach football, beach volleyball, go hiking and go
camping at night here.
2. Nha Trang
Nha Trang earns it rank as
Vietnam’s beach capital for a reason. And that is anything you expect from a
beach destination can be found here, including scuba diving. As a matter of
fact, Nha Trang is one of the most established and most developed scuba diving
spots in Southeast Asia. In one of the world’s most beautiful bays, it’s not
difficult for you to find a spot for going underwater.
3. Phu Quoc Island
One of the hottest spots for
international travelers in Southeast Asia for the near future, Phu Quoc
features pristine beaches, exotic fresh seafood and some unspoilt spots for
scuba diving. Bamboo sharks can also be seen here. After all, Phu Quoc Island
is a perfect place if you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy an
intimate beach getaway.
4. Con Dao Archipelago
You have to take a 45-minute
flight from Saigon to get to Con Dao, a place which used to be known as “Hell
on Earth” during the Vietnam-America War. But now, Con Dao Archipelago is a
true paradise for both beginners and real divers. Beside exploring the
biodiversity under the sea, there’s a new and only penetrable ship wreck in
Vietnam.
